Guide To Buying Fisher & Paykel Fridges Online

It is important to know specifically what model to ask for when buying a fridge online. This quick guide will help you decipher Fisher & Paykel fridge models so you don’t order the wrong one.

Firstly, there is a “base” model number, with Fisher & Paykel this could be one of the following:

  • Fisher & Paykel E331T
  • Fisher & Paykel E372B
  • Fisher & Paykel E381T
  • Fisher & Paykel E402B
  • Fisher & Paykel E411T
  • Fisher & Paykel E415H
  • Fisher & Paykel E169T
  • Fisher & Paykel E249T
  • Fisher & Paykel E240B
  • Fisher & Paykel E406B
  • Fisher & Paykel E413T
  • Fisher & Paykel E440T
  • Fisher & Paykel E442B
  • Fisher & Paykel E521T
  • Fisher & Paykel E522B
  • Fisher & Paykel RF610A

Let’s take a look at the E442B range, we recently reviewed the E442BRMFD in our “Buy Fisher & Paykel E442BRMFD Fridge” article.

The model number E442BRMFD means 442 litre, bottom mount, right hand opening, iridium finish, flat door fridge.

Every model in the 442 litre, bottom mount range has the E442B, the rest of the full model number in this case RMFD means, “right hand opening, iridium finish, flat door”.

So the first character after the volume represents the position of the freezer component.

  • B = Bottom mount
  • T = Top mount
  • H = Hybrid (3 door)

The next part in the Fisher & Paykel full model number is usually an R or L which determines the direction of the door opening. If the model number contains an “R” or “right hand opening” this describes the position of the door hinges from the front of the refrigerator.

  • R = Right Hand Opening Models
  • L = Left Hand Opening Models
  • D = French Door / Drawer Models

The next section of the model code is the colour or finish of the fridge.

  • T = White
  • M = Iridium
  • X = Stainless Steel
  • XEZ = Stainless Steel (EZKleen)

The last part of the complex fridge model code describes any other outstanding features of the product, such as flat design door or water and ice dispensers.

  • FD = Flat Door
  • U = Water Dispenser

So there you go, a quick lesson in Fisher & Paykel model numbers.

Can you work out what the E442BRXFDU model is?

Congratulations if you said a 442 litre, bottom mount, right hand opening, stainless steel, flat door with a water dispenser!

A small addition to this post, in the colour range there is a T = white (actually stands for Tasman) and a white model referred to as the E or Elegance range. The only difference should be the style of the fridge handle, where the Elegance range has a smooth silver handle.
